Gareth has overcome a lot of social and academic issues and has worked extremely hard.  An outstanding student.

Glenn Kain

Glenn has been on the programme for the past year and has demonstrated that he has the ability to stay focused and motivated.  He has been a true success, in so far as his attendance and attitude towards his work placement has been second to none.  The employer will be taking him on at the end of year 11.

Jack Thorn

Prior to coming onto the VIP programme in Sept 2006 Jack was a school refuser. He now has an attendance score of 94%. He is motivated and on target for great GCSE results. He is an inspiration to others.

In spite of Scott having weak academic abilities he strives to do well with his school work. He has exceeded the expectations of myself and the employer at his work placement and is streaks ahead of the achievements that the other students are making. His attendance and time keeping is second to none and he is always well motivated and focused

Richard Alexander

Richard is a special needs student who was attacked by a group of youths outside his placement.  As a result of this he suffered severe bruising to his face and very badly shaken.  He returned to school within 3 days and then back to his placement the following week. This positive approach and attitude has got to be commended.

Terry has been a full time student on VIP since Sept 06. He has a statement in English but works hard in ASDAN. He has worked exceptionally hard at his placements. His time keeping and attendance have been outstanding. A very deserving student.

James has been on the programme since September 2007 and in spite of being challenged academically, he is consistently focused, motivated and committed to his training at the academy and work placement.

The Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Awards enables HBEP to recognise
the effort, endeavour and achievement of young people in a practical and positive
way. We are also able to nominate an adult to win a Jack Petchey Foundation Leader Award.

Each month HBEP select one young person to receive an Achievement Award.  The month’s winner receives a framed certificate and a cheque (payable to HBEP) to be spent on a project of the recipient’s choice.

The table below gives details of recent winners and the reasons for their nomination.
